Holiday to Manchester 11th - 15th September 2016

Describing the city as “the UK’s cultural boomtown”- Manchester has been
ranked 8th top world city to visit on the Lonely Planet’s Best in Travel List
2016. Is this MNTA’s “timely planning” again!!

Manchester is Caroline’s home city and we would love you to come and explore
it with us. We shall be staying in the luxuriously grand 4* Midland
Hotel in the heart of the city and within walking distance of the
many attractions, shops and theatres.

Encompassing the older iconic buildings, our visits will include the Victorian
Town Hall, the historic John Ryland Library, the Royal Exchange, once
the centre for cotton dealing, now a theatre in the Round and the
restored Victorian Baths. We will visit the recently modernised
Whitworth Gallery and have a day at Salford Quays, with a tour of
Media City and free time to explore the Lowry Centre, the Imperial
War Museum North and do some shopping, before enjoying a cruise
around this amazing redeveloped quayside.

Two National Trust visits are included, to Moseley Old Hall and Sudbury
Hall, plus a guided visit to St Giles Church in Cheadle,
Staffordshire, considered the finest of all the churches built by the
celebrated 19th century architect A W N Pugin. An evening at the theatre will be
organised as an optional extra for those who wish.
