HOLIDAY REPORT: TORQUAY    8th September 2014

On a beautiful September morning, 43 of us set off for Torquay. After a stop for
coffee, we arrived at Killerton and lunch in the glorious sunshine. This was
followed by a visit to A La Ronde - we think a little gem - many cups of tea and
scones in the garden before a short trip to our Hotel in Torquay.

Each day was filled with different activities, steam train, ferry to Dartmouth, boat
trip to Totnes, Agatha Christies House, Green Acres and we think, the best of all,
Coleton Fishacre, Doyle Carte's House. The gardens were a mass of colour
considering it was September. The holiday ended with time in Sherbourne and the
sun still shining. To sum up, the whole trip had a "timeless elegance and ease of
pace", the weather being an added bonus.
