Chipping Camden and Hidcote

England at its best….a sunny spring day travelling by coach through the beautiful Cotswold countryside peering high over the hedges and far away. Blossoms, fresh greenery, patchworks of brown and bright yellow and fields of frolicking little lambs!

With a town map in hand pointing out the places of interest many of us took a leisurely walk around Chipping Camden while others just strolled and enjoyed the time relaxing on one of the many sunny benches. This small market town with its long central curving High Street certainly has an air of timelessness about it. After lunch it was a short drive to Hidcote, where we were greeted on the coach by a NT volunteer, who gave us a short introduction to the late Col Johnson (and his mother’s wealth) who created this famous garden of rooms. We then went to explore at leisure with time for a cup of tea.
